The Wedding Trends of 2014
2014 is the year of the wedding. The trends that we can expect are nothing short of stellar and if you have wanted to get married and really do something special, make sure you do it now. It is all about the glitz, being sophisticated by in touch with reality as well. The trends are amazing to the point that some people want to have their wedding this year simply so that they can enjoy the what’s hot of 2014. Let’s take a look at what to expect!
It’s all about black tie and full length gowns again. The modern wedding has to meet the classic feel in everything that you do. The trends are all about the natural colors. Think neutral, like taupe and Grey and perhaps a few bits of black here and there.
The decor has to follow suit of course. This means pink welting and suede table lines, in creme, work fantastically well. It is about having a tailored look, with a modern and luxurious feel.
A wedding this year has to have candles, preferably as many as possible. However, the trends are to put them in massive chandeliers, rather than simple candle holders.
For those who want to have a different wedding, there are other trends available as well. This means that the eclectic people can have a fantastic time as well. This year, it is all about going outdoors and being natural. Bringing the outdoor in will work really well too. For instance, people have installed tree stumps as tables, or they have used antler chandeliers. This way, a wedding combines what is fashionable with what is original.
All though it is all about the elegance, it is also about not being serious. One prop that is becoming increasingly popular is the photo booth, which allows the wedded couple to have a fantastic wedding album straight away. If you must have a photographer present to snap the guests, get him or her to use patterned fabrics as a backdrop.
For comfort, after the formal dinner, why not use low-slung couches, for instance? However, people are also becoming more inventive. At one wedding, people brought in garden swings rather than chairs and some refused to take the outdoors in, but did the exact opposite. They took the inside out, organizing a camping do instead. Naturally, it is all about the “glamming”, since style and elegance is still what matters.
If you are lucky enough to get married this year, you can see that there are loads of fun things to do. Combining the natural with the sophisticated is key, but it is really up to you how you do this. For instance, you could wear a vintage wedding dress of Belgian lace, added with a belt made out of fresh flowers of the season. Or perhaps you could use minimalistic furniture design, combined with rugs made of real (or artificial for the vegetarians and vegans) animal pelts. The possibilities are truly endless and your day is going to be one you will remember forever.
